On Monday, February 3, 2025, the 29th Investing in African Mining Indaba opened in Cape Town, South Africa.
This annual international conference on mining investment in Africa will be held from February 3 to 6 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), under the theme: “Preparing the future of mining in Africa, today!
The event aims to bring together investors, financiers, operators, suppliers and mining and exploration companies.
Over the course of four days, they will close unparalleled deals and initiate industry-leading discussions and business relationships to drive change and investment in Africa.
The annual event brings together industry leaders, investors, regulators and experts to discuss current challenges and future opportunities in the mining sector.
On this first day, the program includes the Opening Ceremony, marking the start of an exciting week filled with innovative sessions and dynamic networking opportunities.
In addition to the opening ceremony, there will be an investment program on the outlook for commodities, where global investors and consultants share their forecasts for 2025 for the metals and mining sectors.
The day also featured a session on sustainability to prepare for the future of African communities, where indigenous communities are key players in mining jurisdictions.
Participants had the opportunity to discover the solutions adopted by miners, Governments and local leaders to support resilience and climate change mitigation.
Also planned is an Intergovernmental Summit on African Mining Policy and Values. Here, African governments are striving to add value to local minerals. An opportunity for them to stimulate sustainable investment while guaranteeing transparency and fairness.
A workshop on “Maximizing Africa’s critical mineral wealth
Here, industry leaders showcased local beneficiation, renewable energies and regional collaboration to unlock Africa’s mineral potential.
The Mining Indaba international conference is dedicated to the capitalization and development of mining interests in Africa.
Held successfully for 29 years, the event offers a unique and broad perspective on the African mining industry, bringing together visionaries and innovators from across the value chain.
The event also continues to support education, professional development, sustainable development and other important causes in Africa.
Every year in February, this mass event attracts over 6,500 mining industry professionals for several dynamic days of networking and collaboration.
