It is held at Kempiski Hotel in Kinshasa, the 48th United Nations Ministerial Meeting on Security Issues in Central Africa (UNSAC). For three days, from May 28 to 31, 2019, heads of UN agencies from different Central African countries will reflect on issues around security in the region.
For this 48th meeting, the choice was focused on the DRC to host this meeting which will count for 3 days on all that threatens security in the region.
Participants including experts, members of UN agencies represented by several countries will debate key issues for peace in the Central African region.
« In the batch of subjects to study, we will have the fight against terrorism, mercenarism, poaching, security problem and transhumance, » said Mogombaye Appolinaire, chairman of the Committee of Experts and director of cooperation and international organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chad.
For ambassador Ileka Atoki, the Secretary General for Foreign Affairs, representative of the Congolese government, invited participants to be more diligent in finding ways to put an end to this scourge.
« The DRC knows the price of peace. This is how it assesses its true value, the support it receives from the international community in the restoration of peace », he said. During this meeting, Chad, which then the presidency will yield the baton to the DRC.
