DRC: Adesina expected Monday in Kinshasa to solidify AfDB partnership
The President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Akinwumi Adesina arrives in Kinshasa, Monday, June 17, 2019. His work stay aims to solidify the partnership between the DRC and the ADB.
According to concordant sources, the program provides that Akinwumi Adesina meets with President Felix Antoine Tshisekedi for a tête à tête. The two personalities could thus deepen their exchanges on questions relating to integrative projects benefiting from AfDB support.
The priority is the project to build the Kinshasa-Brazzaville road-rail bridge and the construction of the Inga Dam.
If for the first, the African Development Bank, Africa50 and other partners signed a $ 500 million financing agreement, this is not yet the case for the second project. Beyond technical assistance, the ADB is preparing to participate in the mobilization of financing for the construction of the Inga Dam.

The AfDB boss and his delegation will also have meetings with members of the economic sector government, business representatives and development partners, to discuss challenges and detail the Bank’s commitment. to strengthen its partnership with the DRC.
The trip could eventually end with a press conference to allow the president of the African Development Bank to talk with the knights of the pen on the commitment of his institution in the DRC in accordance with the five priorities called High 5.
