On a working visit to Rabat, Morocco, on February 19 and 20, 2025, the directors of the Autorité de Régulation et de Contrôle de l’Assurance (ARCA) are immersing themselves in the Moroccan regulatory system. This immersion will enable them to strengthen their expertise in the field.
This visit is part of the strengthening of cooperation between the two institutions. It enabled them to exchange views on a number of key issues of common interest, such as digitalization, inclusive insurance and policyholder protection.
On February 19 and 20, 2025 in Rabat, the ARCA delegation held working sessions with the Autorité de contrôle des assurances et de la prévoyance sociale (ACAPS).
ARCA sees this mission as an opportunity to draw on Moroccan experience in order to adapt and strengthen the regulatory framework in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The insurance market has been liberalized since 2015 in the DRC.
ARCA is working to professionalize and structure this still young market.
With this in mind, acquiring new skills and adopting proven supervision models are essential levers for ensuring greater transparency and effective regulation of the Congolese insurance market.
With a potential market worth billions of dollars, ARCA is aiming for growth, particularly in terms of sales.
The insurance regulatory body is pulling out all the stops to bring the DRC into line with international standards of insurance governance and supervision. Its ambition is to preserve an attractive, reliable and stable business climate in the sector, for both policyholders and investors.
