The impact of digital on economic diversification is undeniable. This theme was addressed by two speakers during an exchange panel this Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the French Week in Kinshasa.
Reveyrand de Menthon, adviser to the president of Orange in charge of International Relations, focused his message on the fact that the DRC must diversify its economy while including digital in all sectors.
Because, he said, the digital accompanies the economy in everyday life that it is medicine, banking, insurance, transportation and also agriculture.
« You have to have common infrastructure and also a good internet connection », said Reveyrand de Menthon.
He added that it is necessary to have the backers and the accelerated awareness. The state must also create and promote a stable economic environment that can encourage business.
Between the lines, it is necessary to understand that the digital plays a role of accelerator of an economy sensible to engage in a process of diversification and transformation. It simplifies tasks and optimizes results. Hence, the need for a country like the DRC to invest in it.

Mrs. Elisabeth Mareno of HP AFRICA, for her part, explained that the impact of digital is that it changes the way of studying and working.
« The digital revolution is a fundamental asset for the economic and social development of Africa, » she said.
African states need to train youth on digital. Because it promotes competitiveness, inclusive growth and entrepreneurship for sustainable investment in Africa.
