DRC: Electoral process, submission of the Management Report to the National Assembly scheduled for September

The Global Management Report of the electoral process in the DRC will be tabled in the National Assembly at the next parliamentary session. The president of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), Corneille Nangaa confirmed it exclusively to Zoom Eco, this Wednesday, August 7, 2019.

« Be reassured that the CENI will, in accordance with the organic law that governs it, transmit its report on the management of the electoral process to the lower house of Parliament at the next session, which opens next September, » he said. .

Indeed, this document, according to the patron of the CENI, repeats all the logistical and financial aspects of the electoral operations. This is a legal exercise of accountability that will shed light on the people’s voices through their parliamentarians on issues such as the funds allocated to the acquisition of voting machines.

As if to say that the Congolese League of fight against corruption (LICOCO) and the Network of African parliamentarians against corruption (APNAC) should take their trouble.

To the question of the delay experienced by the CENI in the presentation of this report to whom ex officio, the president late mandate, Corneille Nangaa reassures that this is due to factors that do not depend on the will of the electoral center.

And to clarify: « It should be transmitted since June. But the continuation of electoral disputes and elections in South Ubangi and Sankuru and the litigation of the latter at the level of the Council of State justify this situation. However, we are finalizing the Report in order to transmit it.  »

As a reminder, the president of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), Corneille Nangaa had, in light, made the update on the conduct of the electoral process from 2012 to today, May 24, 2019, before the local and international press at Pullman Kinshasa hotels.
