DRC: Gecamines-SNCC, Tshisekedi aims at restoring good governance!
The appointments of new proxies at Gécamines and the SNCC have the merits of being pro-competency, anti-tribalist, in line with the FCC-CACH political imperatives and the geopolitical balance of the ex. Katanga dismembered. And finally, they are part of the logic of change advocated by the head of state. Objective: restore good governance for the effective recovery of these state enterprises.
Beyond the political-legal considerations that fuel the debate around these appointments, analysts believe that the head of state, Felix Antoine Tshilombo, has no time to lose to initiate the process of recovery of these companies .
Therefore, this action should be carried out by competent persons to whom clear instructions will be given to them in the accomplishment of their missions.
Thus, explains a source close to the FCC-CACH coalition, the appointments of agents at Gécamines and the SNCC have targeted local expertise of nationals of other provinces such as Kwilu, Kasaï-Central and South -Kivu.
They also promoted from the provinces of Greater Katanga. This is the case of Fabien Mutomb from Lualaba, Albert Yuma from Tanganyika, Coco Mulongo from Haut Lomami and Sama Lukonde from Haut-Katanga.

The governance of Gécamines and the SNCC has been one of the weakest in this last decade. The most criticized most bitter DRC NGOs and development partners have focused on the lack of discipline, transparency and independence, the non-reporting, the suspicion of misappropriation have not been the subject of no judicial inquiry, etc.
Faced with this reality, the same source maintains, the President of the Republic is determined to restore good governance practices within these two state companies. He will be ready to punish severely any agent who would allow himself to work for other interests than those of the Congolese people and his Nation.
