In the era of reduced deforestation where the use of improved stoves is more than recommended, Invictus Power Enviro Sarl (IPE) has chosen to invest in the sale of improved stoves. The launch of the marketing campaign took place on Thursday 04 July 2019 at the Malika residence in Kinshasa.
While the improved stoves are made in Kenya, they are marketed by IPE Sarl, a 100% Congolese company. They offer several advantages, according to its general director, Jean-Jacques Kitoko.
Ecologically, JIKO KOA uses less biomass and contributes to the reduction of deforestation. By reducing deforestation, the use of improved stoves also works for its consequences including destruction of the ecosystem, erosion and soil depletion.
« Just for the city of Kinshasa, if everyone used JIKO KOA, we would go from a monthly consumption of 65,000 tons of coal to a consumption of 32,500 tons and we would avoid in one year the cut of more than 75 thousand tons of wood, « he said.
As a result, Jean-Jacques Kitoko said, JIKO KOA does not emit smoke, nor does it emit greenhouse gases but it contributes to the fight against pollution.
Economically, the consumption of embers being reduced by half, ipso facto, this leads to a reduction in expenditure on embers. What constitutes an economy of the budget of the housewife.
The use of this improved fireplace offers several other advantages. The general manager of IPE Sarl mentioned the reduction of the cooking time. Even more, JIKO KOA has a light weight and can support up to 65 liters; it has a lifespan of between 3 to 5 years; it retains heat, does not emit ash and ensures the reduction of smoke and burns.
JIKO KOA is sold at 45 US dollars, a price deemed « exorbitant » by some housewives but that, when they calculate the cost of embers used every month by multiplying by 3 or 5 years, they realize that the This improved home’s price is more than economical.
Currently, reassured Jean-Jacques Kitoko, Jiko KOA is available in Kinshasa. Everything is being done to expand sales in other provinces of the country.
