DRC: public procurement, Ilunkamba pledges to strengthen control!
Prime Minister Sylvestre Ilunga Ilunkamba is determined to strengthen control in the procurement process in the DRC. He paid a visit on Monday, August 5, 2019, to the headquarters of the General Directorate of Control of Public Procurement (DGCMP) in Kinshasa.
Indeed, it was a question for the head of the government to immerse oneself in the working conditions within this framework of framing of the public expenditure and to get a precise idea on the way to implement adapted measures to reinforce the control.
In the architecture it intends to put in place to improve public finance governance and the fight against corruption, the DGCMP is an essential link.
« The staff of this public service mainly denounced the pressures it suffers throughout public procurement procedures, sometimes even from public authorities supposed to ensure the application of the regulations. Professor Ilunga Ilunkamba pledged his support and urged DGCMP officials and agents to resist the pressures, no matter where they come from, « said an official statement to Zoom Eco.

As a reminder, this visit is the fourth in the series that the Prime Minister has initiated in recent days. It intervenes after that of the Supervisory Observatory and the fight against corruption and professional ethics (OSCEP), the Court of Auditors and the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF).
The DGCMP is a public service under the Ministry of the Budget. Its main mission is the control of conformity in the awarding of public contracts in the DRC.
