The first phase of the Kinshasa Police Academy Project has been completed. The construction of the first five buildings was financed by the European Union for 2.5 million euros. Servicing the site (accessibility, water, electricity) cost the government nearly $ 500,000. This project cycle is implemented thanks to Congolese expertise in construction.
Indeed, this vast project of sub-regional importance aims first of all at the training of the senior managers of the Congolese National Police. It is inspired by the French Academy Saint Cyr which trains officers of the army and a part of the officers of the Gendarmerie.
The campus covers 30 hectares, in the commune of Nsele in Kimpoko district. It has five buildings including a building dedicated to administrative services, three for classrooms and one for dormitories. This complex will also have amphitheatres, shooting rooms, sports park, housing for teachers, additional dormitories, etc.
The goal is to host 500 trainees in the site, in a high standard environment.
The chief adviser to the Head of State in charge of Infrastructure and the Commissioner General of the Congolese National Police took by at the official ceremony.
