The President of the Republic, Felix Antoine Tshisekedi, shares the demands of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank for the improvement of economic and financial governance in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to the Head of State’s Goodwill Ambassador, Luc-Gérard Nyafe, this is due to the consideration of these Bretton Woods institutions for the country’s strong political will and clearly defined development vision as well as the implementation of structural reforms.
« This message from the DRC has been well received. The IMF and the World Bank reiterated their willingness to support the country in the long term. But they also want the reforms to succeed. The head of state said he wants the Bretton Woods institutions to maintain these requirements to keep the bar high. So there is a convergence of views in this direction. The message sounded right. There is commitment on both sides, » commented Luc – Gérard Nyafe at the microphone of Top Congo FM and Zoom Eco.

Clearly, DR Congo and the Bretton Woods institutions have refreshed their collaboration and are committed to working together for the benefit of the Congolese people as indicated in the political vision of the Head of State.
The FCC-CACH Coalition Government has emergencies that it must deal with with limited resources. In addition to its actions undertaken to mobilize increased domestic revenues, it needs the support of its partners in order to materialize its five-year program to engage the country in the orbit of its socio-economic development.
It is only natural that any strategic partnership with countries and/or international organisations should be used provided that the interests of DR Congo are aligned.
