RDC: Expobéton 2019 opens its doors with two peculiarities
The « Expobéton » fair has just opened its doors this Monday, September 9, 2019 for 72 hours at the Pullman Hotel Kinshasa under the theme: « 2050, Kinshasa, Megacity of the West Corridor ». This fourth edition presents two particularities.
First. This show is, this time, co-organized with UN-Habitat which celebrates 20 years of cooperation with the DRC. Secondly. During this work, the first national urban forum of the DRC will be launched.
According to the chairman of the organizing committee, Jean Bamanisa Saidi, this edition puts more emphasis on economic and social needs. This explains why this forum leaves the dimension of a building show for investment.
The participation of UN-Habitat is a way for the United Nations to reaffirm its commitment to the DRC.
« During the 20 years of cooperation, UN-Habitat has contributed a lot to the development of the DRC by its contribution in infrastructure, » said Mrs. Awa Ndiaye representing the patron of Monusco in this activity.
For his part, the governor of the city of Kinshasa, Gentiny Ngobila, took the opportunity to introduce the participants to the different business opportunities offered by this megalopolis.
First in terms of the number of its inhabitants which is a fundamental catalyst. Then, he mentioned, green spaces that can be used for the construction of real estate. These two aspects illustrate several other assets that constitute opportunities for investors.
The first citizen of the city believes that multi-stakeholder action will relocate commercial activities that are often downtown to direct them to peripheral municipalities. To kill two birds with one stone, it will also unclog the city that is in the grip of traffic jams.
Ngobila also invited investors to take advantage of 9 thousand tons of waste that the city pours every day to make recycled products.
In the agenda of this fourth edition of Expobéton, there are conferences-debates; B to B sessions, not to mention the booths where several companies in the building sector, banks and services are represented.
