The International DIVO Agency and its American partners Global Intertainment and Eventique have just officially announced the organization of a world-class event in the DRC. This is « The Rumble in Kinshasa: The Redemption ». The contours of this project were discussed in front of the press, this Thursday, August 8, 2019 in the showbuzz room in Kinshasa.
Indeed, this project aims to revive the world boxing fight of the century delivered by Muhammad Ali and George Foreman in Kinshasa on October 30, 1974.
According to initiator and project manager Deo Kasongo, this unprecedented boxing event will take place on 7 December 2019 at the Tata Raphael stadium in Kethule with the stage performance of an international star.
It will be preceded, in preview, by a week of cultural activities which will know the participation of the Congolese stars.
For strategic reasons, Deo Kasongo and his partners have preferred not to reveal the names of these stars to keep the character surprise.
Brent Dyer, CEO of Global Entertainment, a Los Angeles-based company in the United States of America, welcomed the initiative that will undoubtedly raise the profile of the DRC around the world.
For its part, David Liron, the boss of the New York company Eventique reassured the determination of this strong team formed by Deo Kasongo for the realization of this international project. All means are mobilized to do, he said.
For Eric Weilander, expert in event strategy, the organization of these festivities is an opportunity for the DRC to launch a new signal from the country around the world. He also reassured their willingness to share their international experience, in terms of organizing major events, to young Congolese who will be recruited and trained throughout this organization that has already started.
As for the quality of the materials that will be used, Charlie Prideaux, the Technical Producer of this project has indicated that some will come from the United States but also from South Africa which is a world-class technical hub closest to the DRC .
His expertise will be fully utilized and dedicated to this project, which technically produces New York Times Square’s New Year celebration technically, and technically produced opening ceremonies for several World Cup editions. and Olympic games.
As the preparations for these festivities progress, work continues at high speed on the mythical site that will shelter them. Indeed, the stadium Tata Raphael is in full renovation since a few weeks now.
