The provincial government of Kinshasa has allocated to each of the 24 communes an initial fund of 17 million Congolese francs, or 10,365 USD. This money will be used to launch, on August 3, 2019, the implementation of the program « Kinshasa Bopeto » (heard Kinshasa Clean) initiated by the governor, Gentiny Ngobila Mbaka.
The announcement was made last Thursday by the spokesman of the city government of kinshasa province, Charles Mbuta Muntu.
It was at the end of the Council of Ministers during which he had and raised the option of instructing the bourgmestres of the 24 bourgmestres of the city of Kinshasa to mobilize the population and to proceed with the recruitment of 40 agents per commune to make effective the sanitation brigade.
Reminder Gentiny Ngobila had quantified his program « Kinshasa Bopeto » at $ 2.065 billion over five years.
The program is structured around five main themes, namely: improving governance and restoring security; the protection of the environment and the sanitation of the city; modernization of basic infrastructure, development of economic activities and job creation and improvement of quality and access to basic social services.
