The activities of the 15th edition of DRC Mining Week closed this Friday June 21, 2019 at the Karavia Hotel in Lubumbashi. Stakeholders in the mining industry have formulated a series of recommendations whose implementation would allow the emergence of this extractive sector that is supposed to migrate to processing.
With regard to outsourcing, the alarm was sounded on the urgency for this category of Congolese entrepreneurs to train more to strengthen their capabilities and equip themselves with the necessary skills to access larger markets .
On the subject of the application of the revised Mining Code, the recommendation is to encourage the State in its various branches to pass to the stage of the popularization of this legal text as well as its measures of application to thus raise all the zones of shadow and dedicate a better interpretation.
From an energy point of view, stakeholders have agreed to put in strategic plan to reduce this deficit and boost the production as well as the transformation which gives rise to the creation of the value chain.
As for the mining companies, they are strongly recommended to respect the specifications of the communities affected by the mining projects. Also, will they have geological research?
Finally, the Congolese State has the obligation to ensure the rigorous implementation of laws governing the mining sector, to ensure a good business climate and to intensify ongoing dialogues with all stakeholders.
