As part of a partnership signing, a delegation from the Emirates Polaris Group led by Dr. Arch Khaled Sadek met with Prime Minister Sylvestre Ilunga Ilunkamba on Wednesday evening, October 16, 2019.
On the agenda of their discussions was the possibility for the latter to support the Congolese Government in the agricultural sector, an exercise that involves the construction and modernization of basic infrastructure. This delegation presented the Prime Minister with the terms of this partnership, which leave the DRC responsible for choosing the priority projects to be funded.
« We would like to have projects that will support the development of the DRC. We work in agriculture and infrastructure, and we have very strong financial partners, which means that we will accomplish and fund projects. It is a pleasure for us to meet the President of the Republic, as well as the Prime Minister. We are confident that we will soon start our work, » said Head of Delegation Dr. Arch Khaled Sadek.
The latter took the opportunity to thank the Head of Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo for his vision of grassroots development, which makes agriculture one of the major sectors that can significantly reduce poverty.
The Prime Minister’s hosts came out of the audience satisfied with their interview and believe they will be able to implement their projects in the near future.
Polaris Group, which is in its first experience with DR Congo, is already supporting other African countries. It is a consortium led by the Sultan of Abu Dhabi.
It includes five countries, including the United States, Egypt, Italy, Romania, the United Arab Emirates and collaborates with a few Congolese businessmen.
