The Prime Minister, Sylvestre Ilunga Ilunkamba intends to strengthen the action of the Court of Accounts of the DRC. Objective: to enable this institution to better fulfill its mission of ensuring the sound management of public finances. On Friday, July 26, 2019, he made a working visit to the headquarters of the Court of Accounts in Kinshasa.
Indeed, Prime Minister Ilunkamba was talking about the working conditions in this jurisdiction and the difficulties that hinder the effectiveness of his public interest action.
The explanations provided by Samuel Madudu Mfuma, president of the chambers, representative of the president of the court of accounts on mission, and the attorney General Kayumba who is acting as attorney general, allowed him to have a fixed idea about the state of play.
This visit to the Court of Auditors comes 24 hours after the visit of Prime Minister Sylvestre Ilunga Ilunkamba to the Observatory of the Supervision of Corruption and Professional Ethics (OSCEP).
For some, this series of visits as part of the Prime Minister’s consultations set the tone for one of its objectives, namely: « good governance and the fight against anti-values to maximize through the control of public finances. »
As a reminder, when he was appointed on May 20, 2019, Prime Minister Sylvestre Ilunga Ilunkamba said he considered his appointment a heavy responsibility at this crucial moment marked by the alternation at the top of the state.
« I will mobilize all my capacities to smoothly operate the coalition within the government and contribute to improving the living conditions of Congolese in transparency and assurances, » he said.
