DRC: Thambwe Mwamba promises to boost Senate modernization!

Senate presidential candidate supported by the Common Front for Congo (FCC), Alexis Thambwe Mwamba promises to boost the modernization of the upper house of Parliament. In his message to his colleagues, this Wednesday, July 24, 2019, he asked for their votes in order to give the Senate the dimension it deserves in the institutions of the DRC.

Unpacking his program and his vision, once elected to the presidency of the Senate, Thambwe Mwamba began with the provinces.

« I invite you to put our efforts into the implementation of the equalization fund so as to guarantee these entities an equitable development, » he said.

In order for the Senate to function optimally, the FCC candidate believes that modernization must become a priority.

At the time of technology development, there needs to be better interaction between the people and their institution. He suggests computerizing the system of the Senate, the administration to the management of its heritage. This modernization of the administration should target the staff that is the human capital.

« Senators and members of the administration must benefit from a healthy environment. Under my leadership, I will ensure that the government makes every effort to curb the poverty of the population, eradicate the pandemic including Ebola, put an end to insecurity that is in full swing in the eastern part of the country, « said Alexis Thambwe Mwamba.

This presidential candidate of the Senate is committed to bringing a real added value to the way of working and he promises to ensure that senators take a look at the major laws, particularly issues related to gender, youth, the preservation of biodiversity and the environment.

It also plans to work to ensure that the upper house of Parliament retains its credibility through its organs and with the support of its members.

« I am aware of the social and health problems that senators and their families may experience. I pledge solemnly to make all the arrangements to organize at the Questure level a rapid intervention fund which will allow to give adequate answers to these problems « , reassured Thambwe Mwamba.

It also aims to remain sensitive to the stakes of society in constant change on macro-economic issues.

In addition, Thambwe Mwamba also addressed a word to his challenger, Modeste Bahati Lukwebo.

« My friend and brother, I would like to tell him that the position he has taken is a demonstration of the vitality of our democracy. May he be reassured regardless of the result of this vote next Saturday, we will remain senators in the service of our people, « he said.

His message reminds his colleagues that they will have to spend four years, five months and a week.

And to insist: « a period that will allow us to know each other better and you will discover the true image of the person I am and not the clichés that have been conveyed in recent weeks. I am certainly not a saint, I have defects.  »

For this, he concluded his intervention by presenting his sincere apologies.
