Any Congolese citizen holding a regular passport is free to travel to 45 countries around the world without the requirement of obtaining a visa for the country of destination. This follows a series of conventions that the DRC has signed with these states.
Indeed, it is in order to facilitate the movement of its nationals through the world that the DRC intends to continue this diplomatic process. And this, in a spirit of reciprocity with any country with which agreements are signed.
The DRC recently engaged with South Africa to eliminate this requirement of prior graduation. However, the first phase only concerns the holders of diplomatic passports. And the second, which will come later, will target citizens with ordinary passports.
For the rest of the world, including the European states of the Schengen area, the United States of America obtaining a prior visa from the DRC remains a requirement that no Congolese citizen can subtract.
