A tripartite is announced earlier at 11:30 am between the President of the Republic, Felix Antoine Tshisekedi and his two counterparts Paul Kagame and Joao Lorenço at the presidential residence of Nsele in Kinshasa. According to protocol sources, economic issues of common interest to their states are on the agenda of this meeting.
While no details are yet given about the issues at the center of this exchange, it is understood that the agreement on the creation of the Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA), promoted by the African Union ( AU), which came into effect this May 30 will be addressed.
There is also the project for the construction of the Rail-Rail-Bridge between Kinshasa and Brazzaville as part of the transnational linking North and South Africa.
What could be more natural for these three African states to consult on the possibilities of taking advantage of these opportunities in the sub-region.
Rwandan Paul Kagame and Angolan Joao Lonrenço are already in Kinshasa.
At this moment, a bilateral between Felix Tshisekedi and Paul Kagame is held at the presidential residence of the Nsele.
All these working sessions are held on the occasion of the funeral of the late Etienne Tshisekedi Wa Mulumba, former prime minister and father of Congolese democracy.
Right after, the three heads of state should go to the Stadium of the Martyrs for a meditation. This change of program, indicates the protocol of State, would be justified by the overloaded agendas of the Angolan and Rwandan presidents who would have to return to their countries at the end of the day.
