DRC: Two NGOs demand accountability for US $ billion allocated to 13 state projects

The Network of African Parliamentarians Against Corruption and the Congolese League Against Corruption launches the Anti-Corruption Campaign in the DRC. In a published document, these two non-governmental organizations drew 13 exemplary projects to require those responsible for these projects to be accountable to the Congolese State for the use of these funds. It is :
- The 2012-2014 Agricultural Campaign, a project funded over US $ 70 million and managed by BCECO.
- Purchase Locomotives for the revival of the SNCC. Overall amount of the project 435 million US dollars and 50 million invested by the Congolese government, these associations note that the SNCC is bankrupt despite these large sums of money
- The Optical Fiber Project: $ 25 million released by the DRC government. The price of the Internet connection in the DRC is three times more expensive than in the other countries of SADC
- File of the REIT funds borrowed by the Congolese politicians and not reimbursed. The total cost of these loans is estimated at more than 140 million US dollars
- Project File Bukanga Lonzo, project funded to the tune of more than 200 million US dollars. The program was managed from the prime minister. Here the two associations want to have details on the award of this market and the management of the funds.
- Dossier Land Logistics Fee allocated to the former ONATRA. Project cost more than 50 million US dollars mobilized to rehabilitate the rails of the ex onatra: Kinshasa Matadi.
- IDEF project GO PASS OF THE RVA. Project cost: $ 15 to $ 20 million mobilized annually since 2009. Here, it is requested to provide details on the allocation of these funds.
- Draft Sino Congolese Contract. Project cost: US $ 6 billion. Rehabilitation of Lutendele Road: construction of two km for 25 million dollars.
- Rehabilitation project of the People’s Palace. Project cost $ 22 million.
- Gateway construction project on Lumumba Boulevard, envelope disbursed: 15,207,163.73 USD
- Municipal Stadiums Construction Project. $ 5,000,000
- Proposed acquisition of voting machines, project cost 150 million US dollars
- Project to build one thousand schools a year. Project cost 198 255 754 USD
The two organizations, which have even published photos of the project managers mentioned above, are sorry to note that these projects, which should improve the living conditions, the funds allocated to them have been used for other purposes.
