The Widal Foundation has just found the solution to the problem of access to drinking water that faces the population of the Tshuapa province. To implement this solution, its initiator, Guy Loando Mboyo, obtained the partnership of the Mutombo Dikembe Foundation. A memorandum of understanding was signed on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Congo River Hotel in Kinshasa.
Indeed, the project is called « Aquatap ». It aims to provide the latest technology to facilitate better access to drinking water for rural residents. For Tshuapa, it is planned to install 20 water points each of which will serve 200,000 people, a target population of 4 million inhabitants of Tshuapa.
Mutombo Dikembe has responded to the call of Guy Loando Mboyo to combine their efforts to improve the living conditions of their compatriots living in the hinterland.
« We are bringing Aquatap technology that will allow the population to have access to drinking water with a three dollars a year instead of continuing to suffer with the diseases of cholera, diarrhea that host the lives of our brothers and sisters especially children », said the president of the Mutombo Dikembe Foundation.
The installation of drinking water treatment machines will be done with the expertise of two experienced American companies in the field. And they will be operational before the end of the second half of 2019.
« Our partners offer a very good product. It does not mean that we do not recognize the efforts of Regideso, our national society. But this is about a technological contribution that takes into account the evolution of time », reassured the president of the Widal Foundation, Guy Loando Mboyo.
