Legal and judicial security is the foundation of the business climate in general and in the mining sector in particular. This is the opinion of the lawyer and mining agent, Guy Loando Mboyo. His firm is organizing a scientific workshop on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, on the theme: « Access to mining activities and improving the business climate in Congolese law.«
In an interview with Zoom Eco, Me Guy Loando Mboyo raised a panel of veils on the motivations, challenges and expectations of this scientific activity, which he presented as an open day on the Congolese mining sector.
Indeed, it will be a question of taking stock of the sector’s legal arsenal, reviewing the innovations contained in the revised mining code and assessing whether or not the implementation of these legal provisions has helped to improve the business climate in this sector.
« Stakeholders and participants need to be able to understand what is really happening in the mining sector. What is the legislation in force? How can the mining sector contribute more to the national economy, particularly in terms of jobs to be created and contribution to the State budget? Participants need to have a general overview, » said Guy Loando Mboyo.

For Guy Loando & Associated, the popularization of mining legislation is the main issue at this meeting, especially since the workshop will explain how the mining sector is organized and how it can contribute efficiently to improving the business climate in the DRC.
When asked why he insists on legal and judicial security, Guy Loando replied as follows:
« Because it is the foundation of the business climate. Anyone who wants to invest in the DRC must know what legal instruments are in place, know the laws in all areas of taxation, parafiscal, judicial, etc. The foundation of the business climate is justice. We will discuss the contours of the need for a favourable business climate in the DRC. This will guarantee everyone that if you take your money to the DRC, it is fertile ground for your business to grow. »

Taxation, the coexistence between mining and industrial mining, the Mining Administration in the application of laws, social and environmental rights will also be at the centre of exchanges between participants.
They will have the opportunity to make recommendations to the various stakeholders in the Congolese mining sector.
Moreover, Guy Loando pointed out that access to this scientific workshop is by invitation only.
