« The awakening of the giant, and after: What vision for the DRC? » Will be the theme of the opening debate of the fifth edition of the Makutano Forum scheduled for 6-7 September 2019 in Kinshasa.

This session will be held just after the opening ceremony, which will be chaired by the Congolese Head of State, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi.

In 60 minutes, from 9:00 to 10:00, in the auditorium of Kimpinski Congo River Hotel Kinshasa, indicates the program of activities, it will be question to bring the reflection on a following questioning:

« Towards which model of development is the DRC moving? With which roadmap? What are the strategic options taken by the country in the face of major upheavals-artificial intelligence, climate change, energy mix and transition, sustainable economy, etc.? « 

A distinguished guest, representing the Congolese authorities, will have to answer these concerns to open and frame the debates of this fifth annual forum Makutano.

The challenge of this exchange is to set the economic players’ understanding of the strategic vision at 20, 30 or 50 years for the DRC.

For this first day, there will be four round tables and four plenary sessions on different themes, including « the business climate: let’s dare a private public pact » and « Competitiveness and training: state of emergency and the role of the private sector ».

As a reminder, the principle of this Makutano 5 is to think around the innovative levers of growth for the DRC can integrate a policy of Local content and be a force of proposals.
