The Minister of Posts, Telecommunications, New Information and Communication Technologies (PT-NTIC), Augustin Kibassa Maliba, will represent DR Congo at the Afric’Up Forum to be held from 24 to 25 September in Tunis (Tunisia). During the conference, the discussions will focus on the theme: « Smart Cities and Open Innovation in Africa, what opportunities for start-ups« .
The invitation was sent to him on Thursday, September 12, 2019 by the Ambassador of the Tunisian Republic to the DRC, Bouzekri Rmili. It was during a hearing that the Minister of PT-NTIC granted him to his office.
According to the Tunisian ambassador, Forum Afri’Up is a preparatory step for the Digital Forum, scheduled for April 2020 in Kinshasa (DRC), at the initiative of President Félix Tshisekedi.
Afric’Up is an event placed by African heads of state at the heart of the agenda and strategy of the Smart Africa Alliance, in order to support the emergence of future African champions, by promoting skills, creativity and success stories.
In Tunis, Augustin Kibassa Maliba will meet with about twenty of his counterparts from other African countries.
According to experts, the Afric’Up forum marks the return of the largest event related to innovation and African technology, under the aegis and invitation of the Tunisian government, the Smart Africa Alliance and several other partners.
Donors, investors, multinationals and several other experts are expected to attend the Tunis meeting.
