World: at USD 5.04 per kilogram, the price of arabica coffee rises by 6.11%
The price of Arabica coffee, one of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s (DRC) main export products, has risen by a significant 6.11% on international markets.
During the period November 18 to 23, 2024, the price per kilogram of coffee reached US$5.04, compared with US$4.75 the previous week, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Trade.
For experts, this increase underlines the renewed interest in Congolese coffee on the world market, offering new export prospects for the country.
However, given the volatility of world prices, they argue, this dynamic highlights the need for the DRC to consolidate its competitiveness and diversify its markets to maximize the benefits of this increase.
