DRC: 100-day program, where is Fatshi with funding of 304 million USD?

Published

To carry out his emergency program for the first 100 days of his mandate, the head of state, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi should mobilize and finance the work up to 304 million dollars. At the time of the evaluation, there are voices asking him how much he has been able to allocate to this work?

Pending the response of the Presidency of the Republic who announced a press briefing assessment on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Palais de la Nation, Congolese remember that said program of 100 days was exactly 304.097 million US dollars .

According to the financial package, four months ago, $ 206 million of this envelope should come from the public purse. The National Road Maintenance Fund (FONER) and the Industry Promotion Fund (REIT), meanwhile, are expected to contribute $ 27 million and $ 70 million, respectively.

According to a recent statement by the chief of staff of the President of the Republic, Vital Kamerhe, the completion rate of this 100-day program exceeds 75%. He praised the fact that this level was reached with 40% of bill payments due to different providers.

Therefore, it should be deduced that approximately 121.6 million US dollars were actually disbursed and that it remains to make up the difference, or 182.4 million US dollars.

When does the Congolese executive expect to pay this rating from its service providers? What work has been done by province and at what cost? What remains in terms of the projects to be completed? And the last deliverables/works will be issued in which period?

All these questions could have answers at the end of the press conference of the Presidency of the Republic announced for this Tuesday, May 14, 2019.

As a reminder, Fatshi’s emergency program targeted nine key sectors: roads, health, education, energy, housing, employment, transportation, and agriculture-fishing- breeding.

However, beyond 100 days, the same program provided an additional US $ 184 million to complete all priority actions envisaged.
