The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Planning and Coordination of Development Aid, Guylain Nyembo, submitted the Roadmap for Accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the Council of Ministers meeting on Friday, November 22, 2024.

This is a document that identifies and organizes, in a coherent, temporal and integrated way, the reforms, interventions and actions with a strong knock-on effect contained in national and sectoral policies and strategies.

This MDG acceleration roadmap proposes to accelerate progress trajectories along six axes.

According to the minutes of this central government meeting, “overall, the actions arising from the interventions and reforms identified amount to a minimum of 77.1 billion USD over the next six years (2025-2030)”.

While it’s true that the State will have to commit to providing adequate funding for this plan, it’s also clear that additional resources are required for it to be fully implemented, says the source.

The aim is to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, ensure universal access to basic social services (health, education, water, energy, etc.) and combat climate change.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a roadmap to a better, more sustainable future for all. They respond to the challenges facing the world, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, peace and justice. The goals are interconnected and, in order to leave no one behind, it is important to achieve each of them, and each of their targets, by 2030.
