The Hague: Rutte and Pompeo open the 2019 World Entrepreneurship Summit

The ninth World Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) has just opened in The Hague, the Netherlands. The go was officially given this Monday, June 3, 2019 at 16:30, by the US Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Mike Pompeo, and the Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte in the Hall of City Hall.
Indeed, the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES), in French World Summit of Entrepreneurship, is an initiative of the American government. This is an international summit for entrepreneurs that is organized each year with another country. For this 2019 edition, the Netherlands and the United States are committed to supporting 2,000 entrepreneurs who want to develop their businesses and contribute to a better world.
The Hague in the spotlight
Starting from the fact that The Hague is an international city of peace and justice, entrepreneurs and the municipality are working on innovations for a better world. Because, says the Town Hall of the city, the success of business is linked to the construction of a sustainable future.
« Den Haag City Impact, The Hague and Partners and others are also organizing a number of events at this summit, where entrepreneurs can delve deeper into specific themes. Topics such as green energy in the future, how new businesses can develop a sound financial base, how to link business to a common interest and a workshop for international companies on developments in the Dutch market », has Pauline Krikke said in his welcome.
For an innovative entrepreneurship
The Netherlands and the United States of America are committed to promoting innovative entrepreneurship for a better world. Mark Rutte and Mike Pompeo have directed their respective messages to GES 2019 participants in this regard.
« By celebrating here the values of individual creativity and entrepreneurship, each of you plays a role in the ongoing history of freedom. Bring back what you learned here in your country and use it to do what entrepreneurs do well: solve problems and create value for your neighbor », said the US Secretary of State.
Inviting entrepreneurs to play the role expected of them, including addressing the main challenges facing the world, the Dutch Prime Minister discussed some illustrative topics including climate change, food production, connectivity, energy and the health.

« Strong companies are based on entrepreneurship and the principles of free trade. « Because entrepreneurship and the rule of law complement each other. Because democracy, equality and political stability are conditions conducive to prosperity and progress. And because fair competition and the protection of intellectual property ultimately benefit everyone », said Mark Rutte.
As the summit is open from 3 to 5 June 2019, more than 200 Dutch entrepreneurs, including people from Haiti, have the opportunity to get in touch with their colleagues from more than 120 countries and with major companies and international investors. They have the opportunity to combine business with solutions to global social issues.
